The role @ Sumo Leamington
An Environment Artist at Sumo Leamington will create genre-defining 3D & 2D world assets, props and scenery in a broad range of styles across platforms from PC & console to mobile. You would work closely with Art leads and stakeholders to deliver the creative vision ensuring assets match the art style and follow technical guidelines.
Diving deep into the world creation process by helping to populate diverse and believable levels and worlds directly within the game engines we use. You will collaborate effectively remotely with a wide variety of teammates across all disciplines to bring our game worlds to life with motion, VFX, Materials and Lighting. You will also play an active role in exploring, collating and discussing visual material to define and improve the visual style and contents of the game.
This role is offered as fully remote, although on-site visits to our Leamington Spa office are possible for candidates who live within a commutable distance.
To be successful you will have:
Minimum 2 years previous games industry experience (3-4yrs preferred),Experience creating assets and level building across a broad range of game genres essential (Unity & Unreal preferred),The flexibility to work in a range of art styles and have a portfolio demonstrating this,Proficiency in high-end modern 3D packages such as 3dsmax, Maya, Zbrush, Painter and Designer,Great communicator with ability to manage your own time efficiently and self-motivation when working remotely,Flexibility to work on highly optimized mobile assets with strict memory and performance budgets. (Demonstration of low-poly workflow experience preferred),Can-do attitude with confidence in your ability to work to a brief whilst be able to use your own intuition to fill in the gaps,An open approach to collaboration and feedback from others.
