Sumo Leamington was established in March 2019, and is managed and operated by a team of industry veterans with deep experience of service-based games. Undergraduate Placement Technical Artist 2024/25 
 
Are you currently in your second year at University and keen to work on development on one of our games?  
 
Sumo Digital are delighted to announce the return of our paid Game Art Undergraduate Placement scheme for the academic year 2024/25! 
 
The scheme offers a fantastic opportunity for talented students to spend a year working as Artists on our live projects, a great chance to improve your skills on a real project. We highly value the contribution that exceptional, undergraduate talent bring to our studio, many of our placement students have returned to work for us permanently after graduation.  
 
Sumo’s Art Placement scheme is open to Artists at any university who require an industrial placement in their third year.  
 
We are particularly interested in offering a placement to people wishing to specialise in Technical Art. 
 
Applicants should demonstrate an understanding of creating assets, as well as an interest in technical art skills using a game engine. These can be a range of techniques such as shader creation or tooling, showcasing problem solving & an interest in learning new skills. 

To be considered for this role, applicants must have a passion for video game art and should be working towards a 2:1 classification and above in their studies and should be able to provide an exceptional portfolio showcasing their digital and traditional art skills.

Please note that this opportunity is specifically for a placement with our Leamington studio, however this role can be done remotely within the UK.
