This role is offered as fully remote, although on-site visits to our Leamington Spa office are possible for candidates who live within a commutable distance.

To be successful you will have:

  • A strong portfolio demonstrating your in-game VFX work,
  • Two plus years, game development experience,
  • The ability to create high-quality game visual effects matching desired visual style of the game whilst staying within performance constraints,
  • The ability to own the visual effects pipeline from initial concept to final high-quality assets working in-game,
  • Production experience with Unity or Unreal Engine, including mobile development and the associated constraints of a range of platforms,
  • Knowledge of profiling and optimisation techniques,
  • Excellent asset creation skills within software such as 3dsmax, Maya and Photoshop.
  • What do we want from you:

  • An eye for quality and good attention to detail,
  • High level of skill in the creation of particle systems, shaders, full-screen effects and post-processing,
  • A desire to seek out the latest developments in-game tech, to discover and learn new skills; to apply that knowledge in ways which, benefit the projects and team as a whole,
  • A creative approach to problem-solving and an eagerness to help to maintain a high-quality bar across a wide variety of projects,
  • The ability to demonstrate organised and non-destructive workflows wherever possible,
  • Good communication and time management skills, and the willingness to mentor other members of the art team,
  • Ability to take on board feedback and changes in direction, also able to give constructive feedback to others.
  • Nice to have skills:

  • Scripting – e.g. C# for Unity, Python and Maxscript 
  • Animation experience,
  • Adobe software such as Illustrator, Premiere and After Effects,
  • Knowledge of modern art pipelines including ZBrush and Substance,
  • Other 3D software such as Houdini.
